Back at the beginning of the last century, Fernand Halphen bought 12 acres of land close to Chantilly. The location was covered with ponds and meadows. His vision was to build a wonderful countryside residence on the highest wooded hillock. He and his wife were both enchanted by the breathtaking view.

Halphen was a noted composer, in his time. He called upon architect Guillaume Tronchet and the best builders to construct a chateau that celebrated music on the inside and hunting, his other passion, on the outside. The chateau’s drawing rooms were dedicated to music, while the bas-reliefs on the facade conjured up the world of hunting.

To this day, the Chateau Hotel Mont Royal Chantilly remains true to the original vision!
